  • BANJA LUKA – The first night of the Freshwave Festival at Kastel Fortress came to an end following performances across three festival stages, with the spotlight firmly on the Main Stage and its mix of rock, hip-hop and electronic music.

Charna opened the programme on the main stage, followed by Z++, whose hits energized the crowd and set the tone for what came next – a performance by Let 3, whose distinctive stage presence and energy marked the first part of the festival night.

Speaking about what goes through his mind immediately before stepping in front of an audience, Mrle of Let 3 described it as a special moment.

“Before I step onto the stage, the entire history of humankind runs through my mind. It all spins through my head, from the moment we came into existence until today,” Mrle said.

According to him, the essence of every concert lies in the connection created between the performers and the people in front of the stage, much like the energy of the Freshwave Festival brings people together.

“When our minds and thoughts connect with the audience, that is the moment when we come together and become one,” Mrle said.

It was precisely this exchange of energy that marked the first night on the Main Stage, where Z++ (Zvonimir Husnjak) also presented his distinctive musical style. He explained that he structures his performances in three separate parts, with the finale determining the overall impression of the show.

“My performances are usually divided into three parts. First comes the good part, followed by the middle section with love songs, and then the third part reveals what the performance is really like. If the third part is excellent, then the entire performance is excellent,” he said.

Following the concert segment of the evening, prominent names from the electronic music scene took over the rhythm on the main stage. After Let 3, Mene performed for the audience, followed by DJ sets from Sébastien Léger and Denis Sulta. The first night on the Main Stage ended with a joint back-to-back set by Naab and Vuk Vukosavljević.

While the main stage featured major concert and DJ performances, the programme also continued on the Energy and Funk You stages.

Ice-Axe, Jan Frost, Machado b2b Mekhu, Sinisa Tamamovic, Milensi and Hototo performed on the Energy Stage. On the Funk You Stage, David Medić, S3GX, Minja Despot b2b Chunkie, Delulu, Maja, Pidji, Elvn and S.Mo kept the audience entertained until the early hours of the morning.
