Matador to Open Fresh Wave Festival!

Fantastic Matador will open Fresh Wave Heaven! His performance at Banja Luka’s Kastel Fortress is scheduled for Thursday, August 8th, on the first day of this year’s festival edition.

A few days after disclosing the first great name at this year’s festival, Argentine DJ magician Hernan Cattane, we are extremely pleased to confirm the performance of one of the most sought after electronic music performers, the fantastic Matador!

Born in Dublin, Ireland, Gavin Lynch a.k.a. Matador is an authentic representative of the northern influence on electronic music. In his sets he prefers the sound inspired by cult music editions of various genres. Growing up with Motown Rec. Guns N Roses, Pink Floyd, Orbital, Kasabian … and as a teenager being inspired by electronic giants such as Richie Hawtin, Adam Beyer and Jeff Mills, he experiences electronic music in his own way and presents it to the audience in explosive performances, which set him up key bookings in high-end clubs and festivals such as Awakenings, Tomorrowland, Sonus Croatia, Ultra and Output, DC-10, Space Ibiza, Stereo Montreal.

In rich career he has won prestigious awards. In 2014 he was awarded with the title DJ with best live performance in Ibiza – ‘DJ Award for Ibiza Live Performance 2014’, and with the award for the best DJ live performance in 2016 – ‘DJ Award for Best Electronic Live Performance 2016’.

Matador is a revolutionary live artist with great reputation for the variety of his music choices. He is a proud ambassador of NEVE 5088 Console, and Richie Hawtin’s PLAYDifferently MODEL 1 mixer, and he recently took on a new role as the head of the label for his publishing house RUKUS.

It is Fresh Wave Festival tradition to have the biggest techno stars opening the first festival night, and that is why we, with great excitement, expect Matador’s performance, which will undoubtedly shake us to the ground!

We remind you that this year’s edition of the Fresh Wave Heaven festival will be held from August 8th to 10th at the Kastel Fortress in Banja Luka.
